My Overwatch Dream Collabs: From One Punch Man to Marvel

Overwatch crossovers and Marvel skins unleash creative potential, while anime collaborations ignite fan excitement and endless possibilities.

I still can't believe Overwatch finally broke its Blizzard-only barrier! When I saw that Doomfist Saitama skin from One Punch Man, I nearly fell out of my gaming chair. It's 2026 now, and looking back at that first non-Blizzard collab feels like ancient history, but it really opened the floodgates for what Overwatch could become.

Marvel Madness

Let me tell you, the community went absolutely bonkers with crossover ideas. Marvel was one of the biggest contenders. I mean, c'mon... Doomfist as Thanos? It's practically begging to happen! His gauntlet already does the talking—just slap some purple paint on him, add a few infinity stones, and chef's kiss perfect!

My personal favorite idea was Genji as Deadpool. Just imagine the banter! And Soldier 76 as Winter Soldier? The parallels are too good to ignore. Moira would make an incredible Scarlet Witch with her dual-handed powers.

What makes Overwatch collabs so unique compared to something like Fortnite is that these aren't separate characters—they're essentially our heroes cosplaying as other characters. So when Doomfist dresses as Saitama, it's basically canon that he's a huge One Punch Man fan in the Overwatch universe. How adorable is that?

Anime Adventures

But Marvel isn't where my heart truly lies. If you ask me, the anime crossovers would be absolutely fire!

The subreddit practically exploded with My Hero Academia suggestions. Reinhardt as All Might? Perfection! Though I've always wondered... why would All Might need a hammer or shield? Bit weird, but I'd still throw my credits at it faster than Tracer can blink.

Other brilliant MHA pairings would be Junkrat as Bakugo (explosive personalities, literally), Sigma as Uraraka (gravity powers unite!), and Genji as Iida. The speed parallels are just too perfect.

And don't even get me started on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure possibilities! One fan created concept art that blew my mind—Ramattra as Jotaro, Cassidy as Hol Horse, Mercy as Giorno, and Kiriko as Dio.

Someone in the comments suggested JoJo victory poses and honestly? Take. My. Money.

The Collab Conundrum

There's this nagging worry in the back of my mind, though.

Will Overwatch go full Fortnite on us? You know what I mean—where original content takes a backseat to licensed IPs until the game loses its unique identity?

I adore those event-based legendaries and the original skins that tell stories within the Overwatch universe. There's something special about cosmetics designed specifically for our heroes rather than trying to make them fit another character's mold.

Microsoft's Playground

Since the Microsoft acquisition finalized a few years back, we've seen some interesting Blizzard crossovers. Remember when they brought in those Diablo and StarCraft elements?

I've been holding my breath for a Master Chief Soldier 76 skin. The visor, the military background—it just works! Microsoft's library is massive, and I'm curious to see what other properties they might pull from.

My Wishlist

If I could wave a magic wand and choose the next three Overwatch collabs, here's what I'd pick:

  1. Studio Ghibli - Imagine Mei as No-Face from Spirited Away, or D.Va's mech designed like the Castle from Howl's Moving Castle!

  2. Cyberpunk 2077 - Sombra as a Netrunner? Perfect match!

  3. The Witcher - Hanzo with Witcher eyes and silver arrows for monster hunting

The Future of Overwatch Cosmetics

At the end of the day, I'm just happy to see Overwatch experimenting. That One Punch Man collab was just the beginning, and whether you love or hate the direction, you can't deny it's brought fresh energy to the game.

I guess only time will tell if these crossovers become Overwatch's new normal or remain special events that complement the original content. Either way, my wallet is in serious danger! 😂

What about you? Which crossover would make you instantly main a new character? The possibilities feel endless, and that's what makes this era of Overwatch so exciting.
